A light, win-win shrimp cocktail salad in 15 minutes. This is my "proprietary" recipe for cases when guests unexpectedly came and you need to feed them with something - urgent and satisfying enough. In such situations, I make a side dish of mashed potatoes or boil rice, and while the side dish is boiling, I quickly create a salad like this, which can be served on a plate, in a glass or directly in vegetables (peppers, tomatoes). Guests who see it for the first time usually have a WOW effect (Wow! :))) By the way, lemon is not just here for decoration: you can invite a guest to squeeze it directly into a salad cocktail if the guest likes a sour taste in food. Do not worry, it will not be too sour, since bell pepper allows you to balance the acidity with sweetness, and when the light peppery salinity of fried shrimp is added to this game of flavors, a real feast of tastes happens in your mouth.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. We prepare the ingredients: wash the vegetables, peel the garlic, defrost the shrimp.
  2. We cut the garlic finely or with plastics - like mine.
  3. Fry the garlic in a little oil.
  4. When the garlic is fried, add the shrimp, salt and pepper. We fry them for 5 minutes.
  5. Drain the liquid, put the finished shrimp on a plate, sprinkle with lemon juice.
  6. Cut the tomato, leaving 1 slice for decoration.
  7. We cut off the stems from the greenery, we only need the leaves.
  8. We cut the pepper.
  9. Mix the peppers and tomatoes, lightly salt and mix gently so that the tomato pieces do not fall apart.
  10. For serving in a glass: put a mixture of tomatoes and peppers, decorate with herbs - you get a seabed with algae. On the "bottom" we spread the shrimp in a neat slide, decorate the cocktail with a lemon wedge. For the decoration presented, I also use a tomato wedge. I stick 2 toothpicks into it next to it. On one side, 2 ends remain, with which you can fix the structure on the glass. And on the ends sticking out from the other side, we put shrimp.
  11. Another serving option is in boats made from fresh peppers. For this option, we do not cut the pepper into slices, but carefully cut it around the edges to make boats. From 1 bell pepper of the usual size, about 3 boats are just made. Mix the tomatoes with fried shrimps and put them in boats. Top can be decorated with herbs or, for example, cocktail umbrellas.
  12. I also like to serve this cocktail in small vodka glasses - then I put some of the shrimp right on the edge of the glass - their semicircular shape is just perfect for this! In general, this is a versatile salad for which you will probably come up with your own way of serving. I hope I managed to inspire you to cook it. And having cooked it once, you will certainly want to repeat it!
