Thin pies on kefir, with potatoes and melted cheese

Thin pies made from yeast-free dough on kefir are very easy to prepare. This recipe for pies is suitable for hostesses who do not like a lot of fiddling with dough. The taste of such pies with potato and cheese filling will appeal to everyone, without exception.

  1. Peel the potatoes and cook in salted water until tender (soft), 20-25 minutes.
  2. Knead the potatoes with a crush. Add butter and knead again.
  3. Finely chop the peeled onion and put it in a pan with heated vegetable oil. Fry the onions, stirring occasionally, for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add the fried onions to the potatoes.
  5. Also, to the still warm potatoes, grate melted cheese on a coarse grater.
  6. Finely chop the parsley and add to the saucepan.
  7. Mix the filling thoroughly.
  8. We prepare products for the dough.
  9. Pour kefir into a bowl, drive in an egg, add salt, sugar and soda. Stir with a whisk and leave for 2-3 minutes so that the soda reacts with the kefir.
  10. Then add vegetable oil to a bowl, mix.
  11. Add flour gradually.
  12. You may need more flour than indicated in the recipe (this depends on the moisture content of the flour).
  13. Knead an elastic and resilient dough that sticks slightly to your hands.
  14. Divide the dough into 8-10 equal parts (60-70 g each) and round.
  15. Roll the dough blanks into small cakes. Put 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center.
  16. We form pies by pinching the edges of the cake.
  17. Turn the pies over with the seam down and roll them with a rolling pin into a thin elongated cake.
  18. Put the pies in batches in a pan with heated vegetable oil and fry over medium heat until golden brown (until tender) on both sides. Add oil as needed.
