Once I read that such a recipe for preparing Canadian ribs is very popular in a Montreal restaurant, I decided to try it - and I liked it, and the sauce is simply incomparable!

  1. We need an apple in order to make mashed potatoes from it. Basically, you can grab a pre-made puree (by purchasing it from the store), but I prefer to do it myself. Peel and core the apple, and then cut it into fairly large pieces. Next, transfer the pieces to a container, cover with cling film and send to the microwave. Hold the fruit there for 5-10 minutes, and then mash with a fork until puree. You can bake an apple in the oven. In a separate bowl, combine all marinade ingredients (including applesauce). These will be all the ingredients on the list, except, directly, the ribs themselves. Now put the ribs themselves in the marinade. Stir them very well so that the marinade covers the ribs properly. Leave to marinate for one to three hours. After this time, transfer the ribs to a greased baking sheet. Pour the remaining marinade on top and cover with foil. Bake in the oven at 180-200 degrees for an hour. After that, remove the foil, and bake the ribs with convection for another half hour (it is better to reduce the temperature to 170-160 degrees).
