Spicy masala rice

  1. Rinse the rice well, soak in cold water for 10-15 minutes. Drain the water. Bring the cooking water (two glasses) to a boil.

  3. Put a saucepan (preferably with a thick bottom) over medium heat, add oil, add all the spices and, stirring quickly, fry them for a maximum of a minute. Put the rice, mix well and fry the rice in spices for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Pour the rice with water, salt, let it boil, cook for about 3 minutes over high heat, then turn the heat to a minimum and bring the rice to readiness.
  5. Serve hot rice with a lump of butter as a side dish with meat or fish dishes. Aromatic masala rice will diversify your daily menu and will be an interesting alternative to regular white rice.
