There are many recipes for making homemade bread, but amaranth bread is not so common among culinary bakers. The fact is, of course, you can find and buy amaranth flour if you wish, but it is difficult to make sure that the recipe will turn out to be really successful and tasty bread. We will try!

Meanwhile, people have known about the healing properties of amaranth since ancient times. Interestingly, the name of this plant literally means "the one who gives immortality and denies death." And in fact, amaranth inflorescences do not fade. Ancient Chinese medicine foresaw used amaranth as an anti-aging agent.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. This recipe for homemade bread in the oven includes the following products: amaranth flour, wheat flour, milk, salt, sugar, dry yeast (can be replaced with fresh - 15 grams), butter.
  2. If you want to cook bread with amaranth flour with dry active yeast, the amount of which is also 5 grams, you do not need to soak them - add them immediately to the flour. But in this case, just dry ones are used, so we dissolve sugar and yeast in warm (about 38 degrees) milk. Let the yeast stand warm for 15-20 minutes.
  3. When the yeast cap forms, you can start kneading the bread dough.
  4. Sift two types of flour into a bowl, add salt. Pour yeast milk there.
  5. Knead the dough so that the flour is almost completely moistened, then add soft butter and continue kneading for 10-15 minutes.
  6. We should get a smooth soft bun. Cover the bowl with a towel or cling film and send the dough to warm for an hour.
  7. During this time, the dough will grow 2-2.5 times, or even 3 times.
  8. We knead it carefully and shape a loaf - I do this in a proofing basket, but if you don't have one, just cover the baking sheet with parchment paper and sprinkle with flour, then lay out the loaf. Let the bread sit for another hour.
  9. When the dough has doubled in size again, you can bake it.
  10. I put it on a baking sheet with parchment and put it in a hot (preheated to 220 degrees) oven with a steam bath. That is, we place a bowl of hot water on the bottom of the oven. We bake amaranth bread at 220 degrees for the first 10 minutes on a steam bath, then remove the bowl, lower the temperature to 180 degrees and bake the bread for another 40 minutes.
  11. Here is our fragrant handsome man ready.
  12. Cool the bread on the wire rack and can be served.
  13. The delicate nutty taste and aroma of bread with amaranth flour will hardly leave anyone indifferent.
