Beef Steaks in Onion

This recipe is great for so-called alternative steaks. Blade, diaphragm, crumpet steaks will look stewed in the most advantageous way. They are bright enough not to become tasteless from stewing. And the neighborhood with onions, which softens meat fibers, will only benefit them.

  1. Cut the rump across the grain into 4 equal sized steaks, 250g each. Peel the onion and cut into thin rings. Peel the garlic, grate, mix with oil, salt and pepper.
  2. Put the onion in a heavy saucepan with a thick bottom, add oil and fry over high heat, stirring gently, for 5 minutes. Sprinkle paprika on the onion, stir, remove from heat.
  3. Season the meat with salt and pepper. Place the meat in one layer in a saucepan so that half of the onion is on top. Pour in 2 cups of water. Simmer the meat over low heat for 1.5 hours. During this time, turn over once, stirring the onion. Serve with vegetables.
