British Meatballs with Gravy

Hearty meatballs with sweet onions and cheese filling, plus savory gravy and mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  1. Meatballs. In a food processor, chop 2 onions and 2 sprigs of rosemary, put in a frying pan, put it on medium heat, add oil, pour in Worcester sauce. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Season to taste, cool, mix with minced meat and bread crumbs. Divide into 16 parts. Cut the cheese into 16 pieces, press a piece of cheese into each lump and roll into a ball. Put in the refrigerator.
  3. Gravy. Put the minced meat in a large saucepan, add a little oil, fry until golden brown. Add finely chopped onion and rosemary. Pour in beer, cook for 10 minutes. Add flour, jam, mustard, vinegar and 750 ml of water. Simmer for 30 minutes. Season to taste.
  4. Preheat oven to 240 °. Heat a baking sheet and sprinkle with oil. Put the meatballs and fry on the upper level for 15-20 minutes. Remove the baking sheet and pour the meatballs with the gravy, put in the oven for another 5-10 minutes. Prepare mashed potatoes. Serve meatballs with mashed potatoes and gravy. Enjoy your meal!
