One of my favorite pies. It takes a little tinkering with it, but it's worth it.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Wash the chicken fillet, dry and cut into small pieces.
  2. Wash the leeks, dry and cut into thin rings (if you use onions instead of leeks, cut into quarters into rings).
  3. Wash the mushrooms, dry and cut into slices.
  4. Peel the garlic and finely chop or pass through a garlic press.
  5. Prepare the sauce.
  6. Melt the butter in a frying pan (you can add a little vegetable oil) and put on fire, put the garlic, cook, stirring occasionally for 1 minute (the heat should be lower than medium).
  7. Add flour and mix well.
  8. Remove the pan from heat and pour in hot milk in a thin stream, with constant stirring.
  9. Stir the sauce until smooth and put on fire.
  10. Bring to a boil and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 3 minutes.
  11. Put chicken pieces in the sauce.
  12. Add sour cream or cream, salt and pepper, mix well and cook over low heat under a lid, stirring occasionally for 10 minutes.
  13. Add mushrooms to the chicken, stir and simmer, covered, for another 5-7 minutes.
  14. Remove the pan from heat, add the leeks and stir.
  15. Tip 1. If instead of leeks you use onions, you need to fry them a little until soft in butter.
  16. Tip 2. The same pie can be prepared in a slightly different way, perhaps it will turn out even tastier: fry the chicken, mushrooms and onions separately; Prepare the sauce separately, as described in the recipe. Then combine the sauce with the fried ingredients and stir.
  17. Transfer the resulting mixture to a baking dish.
  18. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into long ribbons, 2.5-3 cm wide.
  19. Cover a baking dish with strips of dough so that the edges of the strips overlap slightly. Cut off excess dough. The surface of the cake can be brushed with egg yolk.
  20. Bake the cake for about 40 minutes at 180 ° C.
  21. Tip 1. When baking a pie in the oven, the sauce begins to flake a little (curl), this does not affect the taste of the dish.
  22. Tip 2. After baking, it is better to let the pie stand a little (about 10-15 minutes), and then serve, putting chicken with mushrooms on a plate with a spoon, and putting a few strips of baked dough on a plate next to it.
