German Apple Walnut Pie

Delicious traditional German pie with apples and nuts in shortcrust pastry. Not one holiday in Germany is complete without this cake.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Add baking powder, sugar, vanilla sugar to the flour. Mix well.
  2. Rub chilled butter into the flour mixture, dipping it in flour. Rub butter and flour into crumbs with our hands.
  3. Add the egg and quickly knead the dough (collect it in a lump).
  4. Divide the finished shortbread dough into two parts.
  5. Put one part of the dough in a baking dish (this part, which will be the base of the cake, can be made a little larger). Distribute the dough evenly along the bottom, forming the sides.
  6. Peel the apples and grate them three.
  7. Lightly chop the walnuts with a knife (not very finely).
  8. Add sugar and nuts to grated apples. Mix the filling well.
  9. Put the filling on the dough in the form.
  10. Grate the second part of the dough on top.
  11. We send the form to the oven, preheated to 190 degrees. Bake shortcrust apple pie for 40 minutes.
  12. Remove the finished grated pie with apples and nuts from the oven and let the pie cool completely.
  13. Then sprinkle with icing sugar. We make tea - and bon appetit!
