Today I have a delicious and beautiful muffin based on pumpkin puree. Marbled it is made by two types of dough of different colors, which are intertwined in a bizarre way in baked goods. Each piece of cake has its own unique pattern. It looks very unusual and beautiful on the table. The cake is soft with a delicate texture and melts in the mouth. It has no characteristic smell and taste of pumpkin.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Peel the pumpkin, remove the seeds and cut into rather large pieces. Peeled, you need about 400 g of raw pumpkin. The pumpkin can be boiled, baked in the oven, stewed until completely soft, the pumpkin can be baked in the microwave at maximum power (I have 800 W) for 8-10 minutes.
  2. If liquid is released when baking in the microwave (oven), then it must be drained. Then grind (puree) the pumpkin with a blender until the most homogeneous, completely smooth state. Cool down. Divide the 125 g puree into two different containers.
  3. Cooking yellow dough. Add granulated sugar, an egg, vegetable oil, half an orange zest, vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt to the pumpkin puree.
  4. Beat the dough slightly (just before combining) with a mixer or hand whisk.
  5. Mix flour with baking powder and add to a bowl. Beat just a little more until the dough is smooth. The yellow dough is ready.
  6. We repeat this process one more time to obtain a chocolate dough. The ingredients show that no orange peel is added to the chocolate dough. The total amount of flour in a yellow dough is equal to the sum of flour and cocoa in a chocolate dough. Both types of test are ready.
  7. Grease the mold (I have 24 by 10 cm) and use two tablespoons to spread the chocolate and yellow dough in a checkerboard pattern. I have each square - the most complete with a top tablespoon of dough.
  8. Then we take a long skewer and, leading it along the cake, along the entire length, from one side to the other, we make movements from the bottom up to the entire depth of the cake, as if mixing the mass. So walk over the cupcake 3 times.
  9. Now all that remains is to put the cake in an oven preheated to + 180ºC for 45-55 minutes or until a “dry match”. The baking time depends on the nature of your oven.
  10. Here is such a beauty!
  11. Allow the prepared cake to cool completely. The first 15 minutes in shape, then on the wire rack. Then sprinkle with powdered sugar through a strainer. The marbled pumpkin cake is ready.
  12. Here is a cutaway cupcake, each piece has its own unique pattern.
