If you really want to eat a steak, or there is no way to come for it in a good restaurant or steak house, cook it at home. Just do not buy any cute piece of meat in the hope of miraculously getting a quality dish out of it. Buy certain cuts, such as beef rump for Montevideo steak.

  1. Prepare a steak. For frying medium - fry in a cast-iron pan over high heat on each of the four sides for 2 minutes. Let the meat rest for 5-10 minutes. When serving, cut the meat into thin slices.
  2. Prepare an onion pillow. To do this, cut 30 g of onion into thin strips and fry in butter until golden brown. Add salt and pepper.
  3. Prepare the chimichurri sauce. To do this, mix salt, vegetable oil, oregano, basil, pepper, bay leaf, table vinegar, finely chopped bell peppers, the remaining onion, garlic and herbs in a saucepan.
  4. Serve the steak on a pillow of caramelized onions and sauce.
