According to this recipe, mustard bread turns out to be very aromatic and will certainly appeal to lovers of this seasoning. If you use very fresh mustard powder, the finished bread will even have a pronounced mustard taste, so you can reduce the amount.

This homemade bread goes well with first courses. In addition, very tasty and aromatic sandwiches with meat or sausage are obtained with it. It does not stale for a long time and retains its characteristic aroma.

  1. The mustard bread recipe includes wheat flour (you can use either the highest grade or the first one), mustard powder, water, granulated sugar, salt, refined vegetable oil and yeast. In addition, you will need 1 egg yolk and some milk to lubricate the workpiece. I advise you to sprinkle the future bread with white sesame - it is tasty and healthy.
  2. Since my yeast is pressed, the first thing to do is to wake it up (we do the same with dry yeast). Dissolve sugar and yeast in 100 milliliters of warm boiled water. We leave the mine for 15-20 so that the foam appears. So the yeast is working.
  3. Sift wheat flour into a large bowl, add mustard powder and salt. We mix everything.
  4. Pour yeast water and the rest (125 milliliters) warm water. We begin to knead the dough.
  5. When the flour has partially absorbed the liquid, pour in vegetable oil.
  6. Hand kneading the dough takes until the bun is completely smooth and elastic - 12-15 minutes. A dough mixer or bread maker will cope in about 10 minutes. The gingerbread man should be soft and tender, but keep its shape. We send the dough to a warm place for proofing for 2 hours, not forgetting to tighten the bowl with cling film or cover with a towel made of natural fabric. After an hour, gently knead the dough and heat again.
  7. The yeast dough will grow at least 2 times.
  8. Now we move on to the molding stage. You can make mustard bread not only shaped (that is, baked in a mold), but also a hearth - on a baking sheet. If you are going to do it in a mold, cover it with parchment.
  9. Let the workpiece rest in the heat for 40 minutes, then grease it with a mixture of yolk and milk. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and send to bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes at 200 degrees.
  10. My mustard bread rose very well when baking. Let it cool slightly in the mold, then take it out.
  11. Cool the bread completely on the wire rack and you can taste it.
