  1. To make a fragrant and delicious homemade tangerine pie, we need the following ingredients: tangerines, wheat flour (I have the highest grade), granulated sugar and vanilla sugar, chicken eggs, butter (at least 72% fat), baking powder and a little salt for balance of tastes.
  2. We immediately turn on the oven to warm up to 180 degrees. We wash, dry and clean the tangerines. I actually have clementines, but that is not so important. Divide the peeled fruits into slices, removing the white fibers. It is important that there are no seeds in the slices (do you want to spoil the minutes of pleasure?). In this form, 400 grams of peeled tangerines with a pleasant sourness are obtained. By the way, I tried to cook this cake with sweet clementines - I didn't like it, because after baking they were slightly bitter.
  3. We take a baking dish (you can not only round - I have a diameter of 24 centimeters, but also square or rectangular). To prevent the baked goods from sticking, you can cover the form with parchment paper or make a so-called "French shirt". Grease the mold with a thin layer of butter, then sprinkle with flour, shaking off the excess. Alternatively, you can simply grease with vegetable oil - then flour is not needed.
  4. Prepare a dry mixture for the dough. Pour 250 grams of wheat flour into a bowl, add a baking powder (1 teaspoon) and a pinch of fine salt.
  5. Mix everything thoroughly so that the bulk ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the volume.
  6. In the dish in which we will make the dough, put 120 grams of soft butter (take it out of the refrigerator in a couple of hours and leave it at room temperature) and 200 grams of sugar. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar there, which, if desired, can be replaced with a pinch of vanillin, a drop of vanilla essence or extract. Or you don't need to add it if you don't like the vanilla flavor.
  7. We grind (beat) the butter with sugar - you can at least with a spoon, a hand whisk or using a mixer. Then add 3 medium-sized eggs one at a time. That is, they added one, grinded it and only then you can break the second or third.
  8. When all the eggs are mixed in, add the dry flour mixture.
  9. Use a spoon, spatula or mixer (at low speed) to quickly knead the dough. It turns out to be completely homogeneous, not liquid and will keep its shape. The consistency of the tangerine pie dough resembles butter cream.
  10. Put half of the cake dough into the prepared form and level it with a spoon or spatula. You see, it is very delicate, like cream, but it does not spread.
  11. We spread part of the tangerine slices on the dough, slightly pressing them into the dough.
  12. Spread the second half of the dough evenly on top.
  13. And again, gently press the tangerine slices into the dough - just the way you like.
  14. We bake the tangerine pie in a preheated oven for about 50 minutes at 180 degrees on a medium level until golden brown. I have a gas oven, bottom heating, without convection (it cannot be there by definition). Then we take out the cake and let it cool a little in the form - about 10 minutes.
  15. Sprinkle powdered sugar on the baked goods if you like.
