Delicious octopus appetizer straight from Japan - try it! Takoyaki is a national Japanese dish that is very popular in this country. Made from octopuses. Takoyaki are filled dough balls. To make the dish perfect, you need a special shape with round grooves - a takoyachnitsa. If you don't have one, you will have to contrive somehow differently. Attention! The dough should be slightly thicker than the water.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Take a large bowl, sift the flour, add baking powder, stir, beat in an egg on top, add dashi powder (if not, do not need it). Stir, pour in soy sauce, stir.
  2. Add cold water gradually, in small portions, kneading the dough. Less water may be required - takoyaki dough is similar to pancake dough, even slightly thinner.
  3. Put the dough in the refrigerator and start filling.
  4. Peel the octopus and cut the meat into cubes. Finely chop green onions and pickled ginger.
  5. Grease the pot with vegetable oil and warm it up. Fill each well with dough almost to the top. Put the filling on top of the dough: pieces of octopus, ginger, onion. Pour the dough over so that it covers the entire pan.
  6. Now, using a wooden stick, we form balls, as if picking up the spilled dough with it and wrapping it in a ball.
  7. Turn each "ball" with a stick 90 degrees. Pour the dough into the void and unfold the ball again so that the top is on the bottom. That is, you should end up with a perfectly round takoyaki.
  8. Fry them until golden brown over the entire surface. You need to turn them over with a stick.
  9. Put the finished takoyaki on a dish, pour with soy sauce (you need a thick, special one). Sprinkle with chopped onion and serve.
  10. Bon Appetit!
