This quick side dish of broccoli with parmesan in a wok allows you to fry vegetables until crispy by using more hot surface. And the addition of parmesan and balsamic vinegar to the broccoli gives the dish an unusual taste. Serve with fried chicken or fish.

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a wok over high heat. Add broccoli and stir-fry, stirring occasionally, until broccoli turns brown, about 4 minutes.
  2. Reduce heat to medium. Remove the broccoli from the sides and add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil, chopped onion, garlic, vinegar, salt and pepper to the center of the wok; fry, stirring frequently, until broccoli is tender, about 3 minutes more.
  3. Remove from heat and sprinkle with Parmesan. Cover and let stand until cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes.
