  1. Cut the onion into cubes, parsley, cut one lemon and carrots into halves, grate the zest from the second lemon and squeeze the juice out of it.
  2. Wash the chicken, cut into pieces. In a bowl, mix yogurt with garlic powder, add zest and lemon juice. Marinate the chicken in the marinade and leave for 12 hours.
  3. Fry onion and carrots in olive oil, add chickpeas, lemon slices, tomatoes canned in their own juice, cumin, salt, pepper. Add parsley and stir.
  4. Chili peppers can be added to the sauce if desired.
  5. Pour the resulting sauce into the bottom of the baking dish and put the chicken pieces on it. Bake everything covered at 180°C for about 40 minutes until the chicken is tender. After this time, remove the lid and bake the chicken for another (about 10 minutes) until the chicken is browned.
  6. Serve hot. Bon appetit!
