Shawarma with chicken and vegetables

Ingredients

  1. We cut the chicken into thin layers and lightly beat the meat with a wooden mallet.
  2. Put a layer of chicken on a plate and sprinkle with half of the spices: dry garlic, cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, salt and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Then lay out the second layer of chicken and sprinkle with spices and sprinkle with vegetable oil.
  3. Let the chicken marinate for 30 minutes.
  4. We cut the cabbage, cucumbers and onions into thin strips, rub the carrots on a coarse grater, cut the tomatoes into half rings.
  5. Mix cabbage and carrots in a bowl, add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, mix and knead with your hand.
  6. We heat the grill pan and fry the marinated chicken layers over medium heat on each side for 3 minutes until cooked.
  7. Cut the cooked chicken into strips.
  8. If the pita bread is large, cut it into 2 parts. We spread the filling on the pita bread, stepping back from the edges of the pita bread, the indentation from below should be larger. We lay out 2 tbsp. spoons of garlic sauce and distribute the filling in the shape of a rectangle.
  9. On top we put a layer of cabbage with carrots 1-2 tbsp. spoons, pour 1-2 teaspoons of garlic sauce.
  10. Add a layer of chicken on top, then cucumbers, tomatoes and onions, and again, 1-2 teaspoons of garlic sauce.
  11. We tightly fold the tube from the side of the filling, make two turns, bend the edges and turn to the end of the pita bread.
  12. Fry pita bread in a preheated pan for 1 minute on each side. Shawarma is ready. Bon appetit!
