Squid stewed with onions and carrots is a simple but nevertheless delicious squid dish. Squid meat is a great delicacy and a very healthy ingredient, so go for it!

  1. If you have frozen squids, they must be defrosted. Never do this procedure in the microwave! They should thaw at room temperature. Then we pour boiling water over the squid and then dip it in cold water, after that we clean the carcasses from the outer film.
  2. Cut the peeled squid carcasses into rings or strips.
  3. Peel the carrots and cut into thin strips or rub on a coarse grater.
  4. Peel and chop the onion into small cubes. Put onions and carrots in a frying pan with vegetable oil and simmer over low heat until tender. Better to cover the pan with a lid.
  5. When the onions and carrots are ready, add the chopped squid to them. Salt and pepper. If you decide to make this dish with garlic, it's time to add that as well. Garlic can be finely chopped or squeezed through a garlic press.
  6. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the squid for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
