To get a crispy dry crust, it is advisable to use all the ingredients for the batter and not to use substitutes. The only thing is, you can replace the protein powder with the same amount of almond flour, but the dough will be denser.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cut the fish into even slices, put on a dish and sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
  2. Add remaining salt, almond flour, protein powder, baking powder to a bowl and stir. Add eggs, soda and beat well. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat a deep fryer with cooking oil to 180C or preheat a skillet with plenty of cooking oil.
  4. Pat the fish pieces dry with a paper towel. Dip the fish pieces into the dough, let the excess drain off, then gently dip in the hot oil.
  5. Cook until golden brown (this should take about 5-7 minutes).
  6. Use a deep fryer basket or paper towels to drain any remaining oil from the fish. Repeat with the remaining fish.
  7. Serve with a lemon wedge, cream sauce, or mayonnaise sauce.
