Caramel pie with walnuts

Caramel pie is made with brown sugar, corn syrup and walnuts. The top of the cake is covered with buttercream frosting.

Ingredients

  1. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees. Grease a 28cm x 18cm rectangular tin with butter.
  2. In a bowl mix flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat, add brown sugar and corn syrup, stir.
  4. Remove the saucepan from the stove, add vanilla extract and eggs, mix well.
  5. Mix the contents of the saucepan with the flour mass and pour into the prepared form. Place in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until a clean wooden stick, but do not overcook. Allow the finished caramel pie to cool to room temperature.
  6. Prepare the frosting for the caramel pie. In a large bowl, beat butter with powdered sugar, corn syrup and vanilla extract.
  7. Pour frosting over cooled pie and cut caramel pie into squares.
