Festive chocolate sausage

  1. Soften the butter at room temperature. Break two-thirds of the cookies into small pieces, crush the rest into very fine crumbs with a crush. Coarsely chop the nuts. Break the chocolate into small pieces.
  2. Pour the cream into a saucepan, bring to a boil, add the sugar mixed with cocoa powder, mix thoroughly and cook for a couple of minutes so that the sugar and cocoa are completely dissolved.
  3. Transfer the saucepan to the water bath in a large saucepan, one-third filled with mild boiling water, add the chocolate pieces and stir until the chocolate is melted.
  4. Remove from heat, let stand for a minute, then add butter and stir until smooth.
  5. Pour in the fine cookie crumbs and mix thoroughly again. Add cookie pieces and nuts and mix gently.
  6. Transfer the resulting dough to a film, mold the sausage. Wrap in plastic wrap and place in the freezer for 30 minutes. Then check and tweak the form if necessary. Return to freezer for 4-6 hours.
  7. Remove the finished sausage from the film, sprinkle with powdered sugar and wrap in parchment.
