This delicious and at the same time quick and easy to prepare lemon and poppy seed cake on kefir will serve as a great treat. Thanks to kefir, poppy seed cake according to this recipe is tender, airy and soft.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. I am preparing the necessary products for baking poppy seed cake on kefir. The poppy needs to be "steamed" beforehand.
  2. I send eggs to a bowl, add sugar, vanilla sugar to them and mix everything with a mixer.
  3. I introduce softened butter, beat again.
  4. To the resulting mixture I add kefir, poppy seeds and grated lemon zest (only its yellow part), mix.
  5. Pour the sifted flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt in portions, knead the dough in a circular motion. It should be like thick sour cream.
  6. I pour the finished dough into a baking dish. The silicone mold does not need to be lubricated.
  7. I put it in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. I bake poppy seed cake on kefir for 30-35 minutes. (Baking time varies by oven.)
  8. Allow the poppy seed cake to cool to room temperature.
  9. I take out the poppy seed cake from the mold, sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar, cut it into portions and serve it to the table.
