Your taste buds have dreamed of this low-carb dessert and you never knew it! A creamy spice sauce that goes well with apples and cinnamon!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Combine butter, vanilla, star anise (optional), and ¼ heavy cream in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer with a saucepan over medium heat. Then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes or more, until gravy is creamy. Stir constantly.
  2. Remove the pan from the heat and remove the star anise star. Pour the egg yolk into the mixture, whisking vigorously. Place the pot in the refrigerator and let cool completely. You can make the gravy a day earlier and store it in the refrigerator.
  3. Whisk remaining cream in a bowl until softened and add chilled gravy.
  4. Place the gravy back in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or more. You can pour the gravy into cups to make it thicken faster.
  5. Wash the apples and peel them if desired, but this is not particularly necessary. The rind adds color, flavor and body to the consistency.
  6. Core the apples and cut them into thin slices. Heat the butter in a skillet and fry the slices until golden brown. Add cinnamon at the end of cooking.
  7. Cool the apples and serve with vanilla gravy.
