Merdzimek, or Turkish lentil soup at home, can be prepared by every housewife, and even should, because the dish is original, hearty, tasty, and the ingredients are all available! Try something new!

  1. Immediately set the lentils to boil in chicken broth. Wash vegetables, peel, and cut into arbitrary pieces.
  2. Add all vegetables and vegetable oil to the boiled broth. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. When the soup boils, make the fire small and remove the foam. Close the lid and cook for half an hour (until the lentils are ready).
  4. Now pour the mixture from the pan into a blender and grind until smooth.
  5. And only now add salt, pepper and your favorite spices and seasonings. We also squeeze the juice of half a lemon, and mix thoroughly.
  6. That's all! Serve with a slice of lemon and sprinkle each serving with fresh herbs. Bon Appetit!
