Do you want to harvest corn, but do not have time for conservation? An excellent option is boiled corn for the winter at home. The cobs retain their flavor and fresh corn is on the table all year round.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. The recipe for making boiled corn for the winter is pretty simple. First you need to clean the cobs from hairs and leaves.
  2. Rinse thoroughly under running water.
  3. It is better to cut large ears in half so that they take up less space. It is also recommended to cut 1 centimeter from the tails, where the grains are usually too small and the base is too coarse.
  4. Place the corn leaves on the bottom of the pan. Place the cobs so that there is still about 5-6 centimeters on top.
  5. Cover with leaves and pour over the corn with cold water.
  6. Put on fire and bring to a boil. Cook young ears for about 5-7 minutes over medium heat, well ripened for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Then remove from heat, drain off hot water and pour over cold.
  8. Place the ears on a paper towel and blot off any remaining water.
  9. Send dry cobs to the freezer by spreading them out on a wide tray or platter.
  10. Once the corn is frozen, the ears can be put into a bag or plastic container.
  11. Homemade boiled corn can be stored in the freezer all year round until next season. To serve, it must be sent to hot water without defrosting and boiled for about 10 minutes.
