Cabbage marinated with horseradish and honey

Such cabbage is very fragrant, reminiscent of sauerkraut, but with a piquant spiciness. And pickled cabbage will be ready in a day.

  1. We are preparing the marinade. To do this, pour 500 ml of water into the pan, add salt.
  2. Add cloves, black and allspice, bay leaf.
  3. Put the pot on the fire, bring the water to a boil. Boil for 30 seconds, stirring (the salt should completely dissolve).
  4. After that, pour in the vinegar and turn off the fire. Leave the marinade to cool until slightly warm.
  5. Add honey to a slightly warm marinade.
  6. And stir until honey dissolves.
  7. We clean the carrots and rub on a coarse grater.
  8. We clean the cabbage from damaged leaves and chop into strips. Put into a large bowl.
  9. Rub the peeled horseradish root on a medium grater.
  10. Add horseradish and carrots to cabbage.
  11. Mix everything and knead with your hands.
  12. Then pour the vegetables with marinade along with spices. (I transferred the cabbage and vegetables to another large bowl.)
  13. Pack the vegetables tightly with your hands.
  14. Place a plate on top.
  15. And we put it under oppression (you can put a pot of water on a plate). We leave the cabbage to infuse for a day at room temperature or send it to the refrigerator if the room is too warm.
  16. Cabbage marinated with horseradish and honey is ready in a day.
  17. You need to store such cabbage only in a cold place!
