Deep-fried avocados are an alternative to fries for the keto diet. Roasted avocado tastes like traditional French fries, the difference is only in the amount of carbohydrates and fats in the products.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine almond flour with salt and cayenne pepper.
  2. Peel the avocado, cut into halves and remove the seeds. Cut each half of the avocado vertically into 4-5 slices, depending on the size of the fruit.
  3. Preheat a deep fryer or deep skillet with plenty of oil. The temperature should be about 180 C. If you do not have a thermometer at hand, you can check the temperature of the oil in the following way: dip a wooden spoon or spatula into the oil, if the spoon is surrounded by bubbles, then the oil has warmed up sufficiently. It takes about 5-8 minutes to heat up. Beat a chicken egg in a bowl. Dip each piece of avocado in an egg.
  4. Then roll the avocado in the almond flour until it is densely coated.
  5. Dip each avocado slice gently into the heated oil. Cook each avocado bite or batch for 45-60 seconds, until light brown.
  6. Use a slotted spoon to remove the avocado and transfer to a plate with paper towels to absorb the excess oil.
  7. Serve deep-fried avocado with a mixture of chili sauce (Shriracha) and mayonnaise.
