Mashed potatoes are a great all-round side dish. Puree will be especially tasty if you add not only milk and butter, but also yolk and a little sour cream. And also do not forget about some of the nuances of the cooking process.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut into medium pieces.
  2. Pour water in a saucepan so that it lightly covers the potato pieces. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook potatoes for 20-25 minutes, until soft.
  3. Heat the milk. Only hot or warm milk is added to mashed potatoes, but not cold.
  4. When the potatoes are boiled, drain the water from the pan. You can briefly return the pot to low heat and dry the potatoes slightly.
  5. Mash the potatoes with a potato grinder. Do not use a blender, otherwise the puree will become sticky.
  6. Salt the mashed potatoes and beat well (you can use a whisk), adding a little hot milk.
  7. Add butter. Beat the puree until smooth and fluffy.
  8. To make the puree even tastier, you can add sour cream and yolk. You can also add a little sugar (children will like this puree better).
  9. Beat again and the mashed potatoes are ready.
  10. Bon Appetit!
