Multi-colored pickled onions for barbecue

Fantastic idea how to pickle onions so that everyone forgets about the meat! A fragrant, multi-colored onion will decorate any table! And barbecue with such an onion becomes even tastier!

  1. Onion cut into rings.
  2. Pour boiling water over the onion to remove the bitterness, and immediately drain the liquid.
  3. We prepare the marinade for the "colored" onion: dissolve sugar and salt in water (40 ml), add vinegar and vegetable oil.
  4. In the first jar, put a third of the chopped onion, shifting it with beet slices.
  5. Pour in half of the prepared marinade.
  6. Add the turmeric to the remaining marinade.
  7. In the second jar, pour the second part of the onion with marinade with turmeric.
  8. For the "white" onion (the rest of the onion), we prepare a separate marinade with white wine vinegar (or, for example, apple cider vinegar) and dried herbs.
  9. Shake the jars and leave the onion in the marinade to infuse in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours.
  10. The most beautiful pickled onion is ready! Bon appetit!
