Pea porridge with smoked chicken and vegetables is very tasty, fragrant and satisfying. Highly recommend to all pea lovers to try!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Let's prepare all the ingredients. Peel the carrots, onions and garlic. We remove the skin from the smoked chicken breast and separate the meat from the skeleton. Wash the peas well in cold water.
  2. Cut the smoked chicken into small cubes, carrots and onions into small cubes, finely chop the garlic.
  3. In a well-heated deep frying pan, greased with olive oil, add the onion and simmer it, covering the pan with a lid, over medium-high heat (on my electric stove 6 out of 9) until translucent, stirring occasionally so that the onion does not begin to fry.
  4. Add carrots to the onion and continue to simmer until soft, stirring occasionally.
  5. Carrots have become softer - reduce the heat to medium (on my electric stove 5 out of 9), add garlic and tomato paste, mix and simmer everything together for about 5 minutes.
  6. Add chopped smoked chicken breast, mix and simmer for a couple more minutes.
  7. Add washed peas.
  8. Add salt to taste and all spices.
  9. We mix so that all the ingredients are evenly distributed in the pan, pour in hot water (its amount should cover the contents of the pan) and simmer under the lid until the peas are ready. Toward the end of cooking, reduce the heat to a small one (on my electric stove 3 out of 9).
  10. At all stages of cooking (from onions to peas), we cook by covering the pan with a lid.
  11. When most of the water is absorbed into the peas and it will not be visible on the surface, we additionally control its amount from time to time, gently shifting the future pea with a spatula: if there is almost no liquid left at the bottom of the pan, and the peas are still dense, then add a little hot water and bring peas until done.
  12. When all the liquid is absorbed, and the peas become soft and partially boiled, everything is ready. Remove from fire and serve.
  13. Pea porridge with smoked chicken and vegetables turns out to be very tasty! Delicate, but at the same time with a rich, bright and rich taste. And the aroma from the combination of peas and smoked meats - mmm ...
  14. If desired, you can sprinkle the peas with fresh, finely chopped parsley - it will be even more fragrant and tastier.
  15. Bon appetit!
