Tamagoyaki (tamago-yaki) is a traditional Japanese omelet that is prepared in a special way. It is based on chicken eggs with milk and finely chopped vegetables. The omelet is prepared in thin layers, which are gradually rolled into a roll. Japanese-style omelet is usually tender and juicy, and the recipe allows you to add spices, vegetables or sugar to it according to your taste.

  1. Cut the carrots into small cubes.
  2. Finely chop the onions.
  3. Beat eggs well until frothy.
  4. Strain the beaten eggs through a fine sieve.
  5. Add milk, carrots, onions, chopped green onions, salt and pepper. Mix.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat and brush with oil. Pour a thin layer of the egg mixture and fry the resulting pancake over low heat for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Starting from the edge, gently roll the pancake into a roll, leaving 1/3 of the pancake unrolled. Move the pancake to the empty space in the pan.
  8. Grease the pan with oil again and pour a thin layer of the egg mixture into the vacant space, continue to fry on low heat for about 1 minute, then continue to roll the pancake into a roll. Continue to fry like this until the egg mixture ends.
  9. Place the egg roll on a board and cut into small pieces.
  10. Serve tamagoyaki with soy sauce or teriyaki sauce.
