The second most recognizable salad in the world menu after Caesar. Invented in New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in 1896. The original does not require walnuts, but pecans. But the difference is small. Pecan is a little more noble, but this nobility is still not visible behind sour cream and mayonnaise.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Mix mayonnaise (you can cook it yourself), sour cream and lemon juice with a whisk in a deep bowl. In the same bowl, grate the celery root on a coarse grater (after peeling it), cut the apples into small cubes (after peeling them from the green skin), cut into halves of grapes and cherries.
  2. Salt the whole thing, pepper, sprinkle with coarsely ground walnuts and serve with white wine.
