Ingredients

Directions

  1. Remove the top leaves and cabbage stalk. Cut the cabbage into small squares.
  2. Transfer the chopped cabbage to a bowl, dividing it into separate squares - this way the cabbage is pickled and colored evenly.
  3. Peel the carrots and grate them on a Korean carrot grater. In the absence of such a grater, use an ordinary coarse grater.
  4. Peel a large clove of garlic and cut into thin slices.
  5. Transfer the carrots and garlic to the cabbage.
  6. Drizzle vegetables with sunflower oil and sprinkle with turmeric.
  7. Now prepare the marinade.
  8. To do this, combine salt, sugar, black and allspice peas, bay leaves and clove buds in a saucepan.
  9. Pour the spices and spices with boiling water (0.5 l), bring to a boil and completely dissolve the salt and sugar.
  10. Pour in table vinegar, mix and remove the saucepan from the stove.
  11. Pour cabbage with carrots and garlic with hot marinade.
  12. Mix properly.
  13. Cover the cabbage with a plate and put some oppression on top, such as a bowl of water. The marinade may seem small at first, but as you marinate, the vegetables will soften and the marinade will cover them completely.
  14. Leave the cabbage to marinate under oppression at room temperature for 4 hours.
  15. After that, remove the oppression, tighten the bowl with cabbage with cling film and refrigerate for another 20 hours. As a result, the total marinating time will be 24 hours.
  16. In a day, delicious pickled cabbage will be ready. Serve this yellow pickled cabbage as an appetizer or as a side dish with meat dishes.
  17. Bon appetit!
