Cut the onion into half rings, pour over the wine bite, add sugar, mix and marinate for a while.
Cut the herring fillet into thin slices, put in a convenient bowl.
Beetroot can be diced, but I like it better when all salad ingredients are cut equally. We cut the beets in the same way as the herring - thin slices. Add to herring.
Add pickled onions to herring with beets.
Cut the celery root into strips or grate for Korean carrots, add to the rest of the salad ingredients.
Last add mayonnaise, sweet mustard, pepper and, if desired, salt.
Mix beetroot salad with herring and let it brew for a few minutes.
When serving, decorate the beet salad and herring fillet with the remaining pickled onion and boiled egg.
