Easter cakes, Easter eggs, colored eggs - all these are traditional dishes of the Easter table. I wanted to try something new, unusual and interesting to please both children and adults.
Easter Bunnies are just what I was looking for. Cute cute little animals firmly hold an egg in their paws. It’s not easy to just take it away from them, you have to negotiate.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Pour warm water into a small container and pour the yeast into it. Leave for ten minutes until foam appears.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sifted flour and salt, add honey and water with yeast.
  3. Knead the dough. If the dough is too hard, you can add a little water.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, on a lightly floured surface.
  5. You can also knead the dough in a food processor.
  6. Shape the dough into a ball and place in an oiled bowl. Cover the bowl with cling film and leave to rise in a warm place for one hour.
  7. After an hour, punch down the dough and divide it into 6 equal parts.
  8. Form six balls, cover with a towel or cling film and leave for 5 minutes.
  9. I baked half the portion, I divided all the ingredients by two, so there are only three balls in the photo, not six.
  10. Roll out the dough balls into an oval 18-20 cm long. Make an incision 5 cm long in the upper part of the oval and push the edges of the dough apart. From here, the rabbit's ears will grow :).
  11. Measure from the cut to the right and left by 2 cm and make more cuts slightly at an angle, forming the head and legs of the rabbit.
  12. Carefully transfer the blanks to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  13. Wash raw chicken eggs thoroughly and dry. Place the eggs on the bottom of the oval. Place the rabbit's legs on the bottom of the egg. Move the ears further apart.
  14. Make a nose and eyes out of chocolate chips or raisins.
  15. Using a toothpick, draw a mustache near the nose, make stripes on the ears and on the paws.
  16. You can arrange a girl rabbit and a boy rabbit :).
  17. Work on mistakes: it is better to form mustaches and other stripes with a toothpick just before baking.
  18. Cover the rabbits and leave in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  19. Brush with beaten egg and bake in a preheated oven for 20 minutes at 190 degrees.
  20. Easter Bunnies are ready and happy to see you. Bon appetit!
