If you want to cook shrimp, but not just make fried shrimp or boil them, and your soul asks for something more interesting, then pay attention to this recipe. In it I will cook the national Indonesian dish - fried shrimp with satay sauce! The dish is very unusual for our, familiar to everyone, cuisine. It has an interesting combination of shrimp flavor, chili pepper piquancy and peanut butter sweetness. It is quite difficult to describe it in words, so try to imagine it, or better yet, cook it!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. We start cooking with potatoes. I will not clean it, but only wash it and cut it into 2 halves so that it cooks faster. Water in a pot with potatoes must be salted. Boil the potatoes for 15 minutes, until soft, then drain the water.
  2. Cut the potatoes into circles about half a centimeter thick.
  3. After that, fry the potatoes in vegetable oil until they are golden.
  4. In my case, the shrimps are raw - their green color indicates this - I will cook them for 10 minutes. If your shrimp is pink, it means that they are already cooked and you just need to reheat them.
  5. When the shrimps are cooked, we cool them down and peel them.
  6. After cleaning, be sure to remove the esophagus from the shrimp, because it may contain sand and other unpleasant things.
  7. Chop the green onion finely. I note that for cooking we need only the upper part of the shoots, so we cut off the roots immediately.
  8. You also need to finely chop the cilantro. I do this in advance, it will come in handy at the very end of the preparation.
  9. Cut the chili pepper into 2 parts and extract the seeds from it.
  10. Cut the pepper pod into strips first.
  11. Then chop into small cubes.
  12. Let's start preparing the national Indonesian sauce satay: put the peanut butter, coconut cream and half of the chili in a bowl.
  13. Stir the contents of the bowl.
  14. We put the pan on fire, add a little vegetable oil to it. When the oil is hot, fry the green onions with the second half of the chili on it. We do this for a short time. One minute should be enough.
  15. Add shrimp and mix with onion and pepper.
  16. Add soy sauce at the same stage. We mix.
  17. After just 1 minute add satay sauce to the shrimp.
  18. Stir the contents of the pan so that the sauce envelops each shrimp. When the sauce is hot, it will thicken quickly and the shrimp will be ready.
  19. Serving the dish. Put the fried potato slices on a plate. Spread out the shrimp we cooked in satay sauce. Add excess sauce to the potatoes. We decorate the dish with cilantro, which was cut earlier.
  20. Serve fried shrimp in Indonesian style, in satay sauce, on the table.
  21. Bon Appetit!
