Rice with shrimps, homemade sausage and vegetables is a complete meal for the whole family.

  1. Heat olive oil in a large cast iron pot (cauldron) over medium-high heat. Put onion, bell pepper, garlic and sausage slices into a saucepan. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, until vegetables are tender.
  2. Pour rice, paprika, black pepper, oregano, onion powder, thyme, salt and bay leaf into a saucepan, cook for about 2 minutes.
  3. Pour the contents of a saucepan with broth and water, add tomato paste, hot sauce and tomatoes, bring to a boil. Cover the pot with a lid, reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes. Then add the shrimp and cook the shrimp rice for about 5 minutes more. Remove bay leaves. Serve shrimp rice on serving bowls.
