This sauce-stew with shrimps and smoked sausages can be served with absolutely any side dish, the sauce with boiled rice is especially good.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. On each shrimp, make longitudinal cuts with a knife, but not completely cutting to the end, so that you get a kind of butterfly. Set the shrimp aside.
  2. Heat oil in a large cast iron saucepan, add onions and fry over low heat, stirring occasionally, until golden brown, for about 30 minutes. Add the tomato sauce to a saucepan and cook, stirring occasionally, until lightly thickened, about 30 minutes. Put chopped tomatoes, celery, bell peppers in a saucepan and pour 2 cups of water.
  3. Bring contents of a saucepan to a boil over medium heat, reduce heat to medium-low and cook for about 30 minutes, until lightly thickened. Add 3 cloves of garlic to a saucepan, pour 1 cup of water and cook for another 30 minutes. Then put the sausages in a saucepan and simmer for 30 minutes (if you wish, you can add 1-2 glasses of water to make the sauce less often).
  4. Meanwhile, boil the rice in water until tender, according to the instructions on the package.
  5. Put green onions, parsley, spices and 3 cloves of garlic in a saucepan. Simmer for 10 minutes. Place the shrimps in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  6. In a separate bowl, dissolve the starch in 1/2 glass of water. Pour this mixture into the saucepan and cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 3 minutes.
  7. Serve the sauce with boiled rice.
